Originally launched in late 2017 by Winding Hall Publishers, the Word Out Books imprint was acquired by AZ Entertainment Group LLC in 2025. We’re proud to carry it forward—committed to the same care and integrity, while continuing to grow alongside our authors.

Since its inception, Word Out Books has provided a publishing home for incarcerated writers—many of whom lack the resources or support to navigate traditional publishing. Unlike self-publishing, choosing Word Out Books means being published under a recognized imprint. That distinction lends credibility and ensures your book is shaped by people who care about the integrity of the publishing process.
